The SLIE Project

David Robertson, Wamberto Vasconcelos, Chris Walton, Jaume Agusti and Jordi Sabater

One of the aims of the SLIE project is to build a framework in which we can run experiments on models of large agent systems. The models themselves may not be huge but they must be able to give us insights into how large systems perform, through an understanding of the behaviour of idealised systems. We are at the very beginning of this work and there are no outstanding examples of existing modelling frameworks upon which we can base ours. We shall discuss the analysis methods, support systems and architectural styles which we are considering and give some exampels of simple implementations of these. The discussion will be a joint effort by Edinburgh (Robertson,Vasconcelos,Walton) and Barcelona (Agusti,Sabater).
