| Abstract: | We discuss the costs and benefits of using natural-language (NL) generation technology to produce documentation and on-line help messages, and propose some 'intermediate' generation techniques that provide many (although not all) of the benefits of more principled 'deep' generation techniques but at a significantly lower cost. |
