MultipleView Visual Modelling of Soma Parts:
The strong architectural constraints (parts are constructed on a cubic
grid) can be used to help to decide which image edges are the projected
edges of the part.

Polygon Approximation to an Image Outline:
In a greylevel image, given a threshold with which to distinguish
figure from background, construct a polygonal approximation to the
figure outline.

Planning and Assembling Pentominoes:
A 2D version of the SOMASS system: the parts are made from five squares,
and fit together in jigsaw fashion to make a rectangle.

Sensorless Soma Part Recognition:
A previous project established how to orient any particular part by
finding a sequence of pushing motions by a straightsided sweeper. This
project uses the same general ideas to separate different parts into
different locations.

Attracting Similar Shapes into Superimposition:
A previous project devised the Shape Attractor algorithm, which attracts
similar shapes into superimposition by a kind of selective
magnetism. Unfortunately if the shapes require a lot of rotation for
best superimposition it is liable to get stuck in local minima. This
project will try to improve the attractor to lessen this problem, and if
necessary introduce some sampling in order to get over this problem.
