Practical Issues in Delivering a Silvicultural Planning Tool for Assistance in Forest Management

Stefan Daume

As you might remember the overall goal of my project is the development of a KBS that should assist foresters in planning and realising forest treatments - in particular thinnings. Most of the time so far was spent on the KBS part: how to represent thinnings and how to capture differences between thinnings carried out by individual foresters.

The project has now reached a point where our efforts should be directed towards delivering the current work to forest practitioners. How this can be done will be the subject of my talk. I going to present some of the ideas we intend to put into practice in the coming weeks and I am looking forward to your feedback.
