Our Web site synthesis approach worked so far with the assumption that a high-level application description is provided, from which an intermediate representation is semi-automatically derived. We use this intermediate representation to generate different visualisations for the site.
Entity-Relationship (ER) diagrams are very popular for conceptual modelling of applications and there are well established approaches for mapping ER diagrams into database schemata. We have found out that a similiar approach can be used for Web site synthesis. Recently we have been experimenting with automated generation of intermediate representation from ER diagrams.
In this talk I shall discuss the ideas behind the proposed approach and illustrate them with some examples.
