Databases are a necessary component of modern businesses. They are also a requirement for the representing knowledge under reasoning. However, there are a wide variety of different database technologies available, and the correct choice is not always obvious. In my talk I will be summarising the main kinds of database systems and the operations that they support. No previous knowledge of databases will be assumed.
