Austin Tate and John Kingston will report on the AKT-related meetings they attended last week. Austin attended a meeting or Principal Investigators and the Steering Board, and will summarise discussions held there. John Kingston attended a workshop at which various AKT partners brought their technologies together with the aim of integrating them into a single system. He will demonstrate two of the technologies that were brought to this meeting: Sheffield's named entity recognition system (GATE) and Southampton's ontology-based annotation tool for web pages.
