For better or worse, FIPA (a standardisation effort for agent
communication) has made an undeniable impact on agent communication
research. I will be talking about the FIPA project and its successes
and potential problems. I will also try to convince you that the
protocol being developed right here in this very building can solve
some of those problems. Also, I will finally answer the important
question, Who is Doctor Sadek?
