Ontologies and Agent Coordination

Dave Robertson

In previous SSP meeting we have discussed coordination of agents and Web services using protocols constraining the social norms of interaction between problem solvers. Taking this as a point of departure, we shall discuss how ontological constraints might fit into this picture. In particular, we shall look at a proposal for a simple means of performing ontology checks on protocols. There will, I'm afraid, be quite a lot of "in your face" source code for the necessary knowledge representation and translation mechanisms.
