| Abstract: | A successful strategy for a robotic volleyball team is designed and implemented using the LEGO MINDSTORMS robotics kit. Investigations into the capabilities of the sensors and motors provided with the kit are carried out, and the behaviours a volleyball playing robot would need are considered. A strategy for play using an attacker and a defender is justified, and explanation of the design, building and behaviour based control of a defender robot is presented. The importance of communication in multi-agent teams is demonstrated, and an extension to the defender which decreases the search space of the attacker is investigated. |
