Abstract: | The paper describes the extent to which domain specific knowledge can aid and simplify the modelling of rectangular objects. The modelling of simple objects from the chosen experimental domain can be achieved from monocular images without the need for multiple views or computationally expensive techniques such as backtracking, by the appropriate use of a priori knowledge. The extent to which the implemented methods described here apply to more complex domains are explained, as are the possible extensions to these methods.
