Abstract: | Producing and translating complex documents is expensive and time-comsuming. When documentation needs to be updated often, the economics of production forces a complete rethink of the whole process. Using Natural Language Generation to produce documents and building a multilingual interface to tackle the translation question is one way of solving the problem. This project takes as its starting point the creation of a system generating French text based on a current natural language generation system for English. It explores ways of expanding the semantic model to cope with the differences between French and English. The resulting French system is then examined as a model for a potential multilingual generation system.
