Edinburgh offers a huge range of accomodation options ranging from magnificent five star hotels to homely guest houses to budget youth hostels. We have compiled below a list of few options (and we will be adding more over the next few days): they vary in their luxury level, but all are within reasonable distance from the workshop venue (less than 10-20 minutes walk, some even less), and have been checked/graded by either the Scottish Tourist Board, the AA, or the RAC. This only applies to the ones listed individually - you should check for entries listed as part of compilations. Some options have Web pages on the net, offering electronic booking etc. We list them first:
  • Pollock Halls (University of Edinburgh residence halls) with various options of booking from different countries, and on-line prices. Note: if you are also going to stay for SIRS-98, and you are booking accomodation in Pollock Halls through the SIRS-98 registration form, you can ask for extra nights using that form. For extra nights accomodation AFTER SIRS98, here is some info.
